1.         Summary

 

I have put in twenty eight years and ten months of service in teaching, research, consultancy and administration in the Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala.

My major assignments include:

-      Principal, Government Engineering College, Barton hill, Thiruvananthapuram.

-          Joint Director (IIIC), Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Kerala.

-          Head ,Department of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering Trivandrum

-          Secretary ,ISTE Trivandrum Chapter, College of Engineering Trivandrum

-          Co-ordinator of THREE Sponsored research project

-          Co-coordinator for the Visiting Faculty Programme, Government of Kerala.

-          Worked as Head, Structural Engineering Division

-          Worked as Professor  for PG courses

-          Departmental Coordinator of Services to community, Technical Education Quality Improvement Project.(TEQIP) (World Bank Aided Project), Government of India

-          Worked as Coordinator for Time Table in the Civil Department.

            -     Chair man for the PG Valuation.

                -     Worked as President of Civil Engg. Association

Paper presentation at International Conference on Civil & Infrastructural Engineering 2006 at  UiTM Shah Alam Selangor Darul Ehsam Malaysia in 2006 June, 5th Asian Symposium on Polymers In Concrete in 2007 June, International Conference on Recent Development In Structural Engineering in August 2007 and 3rd Structural Engineers World Congress. SEWC 2007 in November 2007.

I have been the Organising secretary for the National Conference on Technological Trends NCTT 2007 during November –December 2007.

 

3.         Brief on activities for institution development

A.        During the last five years

(i)                 Serving as Principal, Government Engineering College, Barton Hill, Thiruvananthapuram.

(ii)               Served as Joint Director (IIIC), Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Kerala.

(iii)             Served as Professor and Head of the department of Civil Engineering.

(iv)             Served as the Professor for PG Courses for the last two years in the Department.

(v)               Responsible for revision of Scheme, Regulations and syllabi for the existing M. Tech Course and the NEW  M Tech Scheme  in the Civil Engineering Department

(vi)             Played as one of the co-ordinator during accreditation Process and for obtaining Accreditation for all UG and PG Programmes in the Department of Civil  Engineering

(vii)           Served as Head of the Structural Engineering Division.

(viii)         Served as Co-ordinator of the activities of services to community under TEQIP in the Civil Department.

(ix)             Serving as Secretary ISTE ,Trivandrum Chapter

(x)               Serving as Member representing CET in the Urban Earthquake Vulnerable Reduction Project, govt. of Kerala, Sponsored by Govt. of India.

(xi)             Co-coordinator for the Visiting Faculty Programme, Government of Kerala

(xii)           Coordinator for the centralized M Tech admission for all Government & Aided    Engineering colleges in the state of Kerala, during the year 2008, 2009 and 2010.
