Computer Society of India (CSI)

The  first and largest body of computer professionals in India. CSI is a non-profit organization and its members are committed to the advancement of theory and practice of Computer Engineering and Technology Systems.

The seed for the Computer Society of India (CSI) was first sown in the year 1965 with a handful of IT enthusiasts who were a computer user group and felt the need to organize their activities. They also wanted to share their knowledge and exchange ideas on what they felt was a fast emerging sector. The purposes of the Society are scientific and educational directed towards the advancement of the theory and practice of computer science & IT.


Our college in the academic year of 2014-15, witnessed a lot of activities including seminars, workshops, and technical competitions. We had activities at regular intervals.

A training programme – ‘How to C ??’ was organized for the 1st year students of  IT department who faced difficulty in dealing with C programming Language. These classes were held thrice a week from   4 pm –5 pm.

The student members from pre final year had attended a seminar on Role of Cyber Forensics in the mitigation of Cyber Crime on 17th July, 2014 at Technopark. The seminar was conducted by Computer Society of India, Trivandrum Chapter in association with Group of Technology Companies, C- DAC Trivandrum and the Hi- Tech Crime Enquiry Cell of Kerala Police.

A Technical competition ‘Mindsweeper’ was organized in the 3rd week of July for the students of our college that tested their logical and reasoning skills.

An orientation programme for the 1st year students of IT Department was organized along with a seminar on Social Engineering on 9th August, 2014. The seminar was conducted by Neelakantan G, Chairman, CSI Trivandrum Chapter.

A seminar on E-Waste management was organized in our College on 12th February, 2015. The seminar was taken by a Pramod G, Project Manager, Clean Kerala.

A 2 day workshop on Ethical Hacking was organized in our IT lab on 28th February, 2015 and 1st March, 2015. The workshop was organized by Networkz Systems in association

The chapter organised a 4 day workshop on Adobe Photoshop on 25-29 August 2014 . More than 30 students attended the workshop .
